OK here is what the deal is with no sugar. I am always talking about being a better athlete. this seems harder to do as I get older. I can say that my most recent marathon is my fastest so maybe it is possible to get faster as I get older. mmmmm. So as you know I have been an honorary crossfit junkie( I have been doing the workouts at 24 fitince) since I got hurt almost a year ago and the diet they recommend is called the Zone. The basics are that you eat 40% of your calories from carbs and 30% from fat and 30% from proteins. The guy that was the author of the zone is not all that bad because he went to MIT. Anyway the Zone says little or no sugar, caffeine or alcohol. Since I cannot do anything in moderating. None is easier than some. The reason to be on the zone is not to loose weight but to get your body to run optimally when you are "in the zone" your body can perform at its highest levels. So there you have it. I have been without sugar for 2 1/2 days. For clarification. The natural sugar in fruit is Ok, but the zone diet says not to eat more than 3 servings of fruits a day. This is hard to do, because most fruits are two servings. An apple or an orange is two servings.
